Topology and Parameter Identification of Distribution Network Using Smart Meter and µPMU Measurements

Incomplete and inaccurate information of network topology line parameters affects state monitoring, analysis, control active distribution networks. To solve this issue, article proposes a method for identifying using the measurements obtained from smart meters (SMs) microphasor measurement units ( $\mu $ PMUs) installed at various locations in network. A data-driven approach was developed, which uses probabilistic (unscented Kalman filter (UKF) based) deterministic (Newton Raphson (NR) iteratively accurate identification parameters. The impact noise with SMs PMUs is analyzed, acceptable levels are quantified. algorithm on estimation examined. Moreover, optimal installation PMU equipment identified based accuracy algorithm. validated benchmarked IEEE 33-bus 123-bus test systems, while renewable power injections different nodes studied as well. qualitative quantitative analysis performed over state-of-the-art methods, to highlight effectiveness proposed methodology.
